Questions people ask
Does this work on mobile?
This is a Chrome desktop extension, so it only works in Chrome on desktop and laptop computers. The mobile YouTube app and mobile browser don't support extensions.
Does it slow down YouTube?
No. The extension only adds a small set of CSS rules to hide elements and watches for one type of URL to redirect. It does not load any external scripts or make any network requests.
Do you collect any data?
No. The extension stores your preferences locally in your browser, and that's it. No analytics, no tracking, no servers. Full details on the privacy page.
Will it still work if YouTube changes their layout?
Sometimes YouTube updates the page structure and a hiding rule needs to be adjusted. When that happens, an update is pushed through the Chrome Web Store and your extension auto-updates within a day.
Is it really free?
Yes. No trial, no premium tier, no upsell. Built because the maker wanted it and figured other people would too.
